Friends of Scarborough Library


About Us

Friends of Scarborough Library was founded in 2000 and re-constituted in 2018. The aims of the group are to improve the education and leisure facilities provided and raise the profile of our library. In order to achieve this we organise activities and events of local and community interest. We also raise and donate funds to be used for the benefit of Scarborough Library. Recently we have provided equipment for the Lego Club and materials  for the Wellbeing Art Club.

Membership of FOSL is by annual subscription. Subscription fees and donations are used to support Library projects.

The  FOSL Committee are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in April. The Officers of the Committee currently meet at least seven times a year to report on matters including:

May 2021

Membership for 2021/22 is currently suspended as we are unable to hold events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Committee is currently considering the future of FOSL and will be in touch with members in June.

 What's on Scarborough Library

Scarborough Library reopened in April, for users to select their own books, but isn't able to offer its full range of services such as events, meeting room hire or regular group meetings.
