Friends of Scarborough Library
Friends of Scarborough Library was founded in 2000 and re-constituted in 2018. The aims of the group are to improve the education and leisure facilities provided and raise the profile of our library. In order to achieve this we organise activities and events of local and community interest. We also raise and donate funds to be used for the benefit of Scarborough Library. Recently we have provided equipment for the Lego Club and materials for the Wellbeing Art Club.
Membership of FOSL is by annual subscription. Subscription fees and donations are used to support Library projects.
The FOSL Committee are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in April. The Officers of the Committee currently meet at least seven times a year to report on matters including:

Membership to Friends of Scarborough Library includes free entry to monthly talks and a copy of the Reflections Newsletter which is published twice a year. The subscription year runs from April through the following March.
Membership rates for 2020/21 are:
Individual member - £5
Two people living at the same address - £7
Members can enrol at the monthly talks/events or pick up a membership form from the Library. You can also use the link below to access an online version of the membership form which includes payment options.
Membership for 2020/21 is currently suspended as we are unable to hold events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

DUE TO THE COVID 19 VIRUS AND RESTRICTIONS ON PUBLIC GATHERINGS, WE HAVE SADLY HAD TO CANCEL OUR MONTHLY EVENTS FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
THE AGM HAS ALSO BEEN POSTPONED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR A FUTURE DATE.
The Reflections newsletter is published twice a year.
The Spring/Summer 2020 issue came out in May. It was sent electronically to members who have supplied an email address and mailed to other members.
